Image developed mainly over the first day, but was finished some time later. This image frustrated me in the beginning due to my fairly restrictive anatomy/pose knowledge, so any attempt I did to make a character that looked active and interesting just ended up being redrawn over and over. It got to me quite a bit and I started comparing my work with other artists out there, but luckily I just said “screw that” and chopped the character off at the legs and created the environment surrounding him.

Especially fond of my use of hard elliptical brushes to carve out the character and surrounding at first using solid colours, then adding coloration and lighting on top of that. There’s really no texture brushes at work here, beside the steam coming up from the waterfall.
